WHAT TYPES OF CONDITIONS ARE TREATED?
Treatable conditions include such problems as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, sciatica, chronic headaches and pain complicating almost any medical problem which has been thoroughly diagnosed and treated but in which the pain has not been properly controlled.
Other conditions that are treatable with acupuncture include deafness due to nerve problems, sinusitis, asthma, chronic diarrhea or constipation, painful menstrual periods, certain symptoms of multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions as well as other diseases. In addition, there is a large body of evidence suggesting that acupuncture can help patients with weight loss as well as nicotine addiction, drug abuse and alcoholism.
